I have decided that the time change is ridiculous.
As a kid I recall LOVING the "fall back" and gaining that hour of sleep! Now that I have kids...oh my. In reality I think we are losing two hours, minimum, when it first resets. The kids get to go to sleep an hour later, but they are waking up at the same time, which is actually an hour earlier now! Crazy!
Bedtime was 7:30ish and the kids didn't wake till at least 7:20 in the morning...before the change. Peanut would sleep from 12:30-2:30 or 3:00! Coconut has given up napping in the last months, but she would "rest" for about and hour and a half during Peanut's nap.
Now that 7:30pm is 6:30pm again, we have decided to throw the girls, all at once, onto this new schedule. Bedtime is the "new" 7:30 and this seems to have thrown in a multitude of other problems.
Sunday morning at 5:45...yes, you read it correctly. I do not DO 5:45, but apparently my Peanut does. She feels that this is still 6:45 and so woke Coconut up talking and throwing toys at her. (After all, Peanut can't open the door, but Coconut can...smart way to get out of the room). Naptime that day was non-existant! Neither Coconut nor Peanut went down for a nap AT ALL on Sunday. And then we headed to bed at 7:30 to stick to our guns.
Ok, well Monday was slightly better, with neither waking up before 6:10. That is still TOO early if you ask me. And then Peanut only napped for 50 minutes! Again to bed at 7:30.
This morning Peanut was up at 7:15! (We're getting closer)! Coconut slept until about 7:30am! Coconut even took a short nap after school and Peanut napped at school for about 1hour and 45 minutes. However, Richard didn't get the kids in bed while I was out this evening. They weren't in bed until after 8, so I am looking forward to a wonderfully early morning tomorrow:(.
